The project for the new station and hostel in Jaca arises from the perspective of the city's future guidelines. It aims to solve a dual problem.
Firstly, the connection between the heart of Jaca and the peripheral residential neighborhoods, and secondly, the catalyzation of activity, both local and touristic, through the appropriation and use of current and future rail lines with international projection and local connections by bus. It will serve as a hub of communication that intertwines pedestrian, vehicular, and railway scales.
Taking advantage of the demolition outlined in the General Urban Planning Plan of residential buildings in the area, which is now to become a space without character and out of scale, adjacent to the most important educational buildings in the city.
This space is taken and its heart enclosed, dividing it into more legible and appropriately scaled spaces, giving them facade, characterizing them, and generating pedestrian streets framed by new commercial areas.
A higher level is sealed off to connect it to the overpasses and generate a garden onto which the rooms of the hostel overlook. At the street level, underneath this waxed tier, a through station is crossed, which now reaches the garden and breathes from it.
